Interflora Florist of the year
Iain won the competition for Interflora Florist of the year, competing against NZ florists. He represented NZ at the Interflora World Cup which is held every 4 years but NZ hadnt sent any representative for 12 years - Iain was the first.
It was held in Melbourne Australia and had representatives from all countries of the world. Very intensive country, many countries had up to 12 in their team and huge budgets into the 10s of thousands of $$$. Little old NZ had Iain and no dollars!!! He made lots of contacts and since has featured in an international floral book which has been published this year. He was the only NZ Florist to be featured. It is a fantastic floral book of whos who in the world of floristry.
Iain is a judge again at Ellerslie. We have won 4 gold medals and other medals there before he was asked to be a judge. He judges the professional floral designers and also the floral artists. He has been judging for the past 4 years.
He is also on the Interflora Board and is the District Chairman of Auckland for Interflora.
